Glazer Hall

Palm Beach's reimagined Royal Poinciana Playhouse

For the first time in sixty years, the lights come up on the Royal Poinciana Playhouse.

Evoke was brought in to give the reborn Palm Beach landmark a performance lighting and audio system as flexible as its programming.

A 1958 landmark designed by architect John L. Volk, the Royal Poinciana Playhouse sat dark for years before Avie and Jill Glazer set out to restore it as Glazer Hall, a nonprofit waterfront venue on the Intracoastal Waterway, and Palm Beach's first new arts organization in more than six decades. By the time Evoke was engaged, the project had been six years in the making, shaped by Theatre Consultants Collaborative (TCC) and IA Stage.

Contracted by Glazer Hall's executive director and owners, Evoke provided performance lighting and audio consultation for the 400-seat theater. Evoke specified the lighting, audio, and live-event control systems that bring a show to life. Working alongside TCC and Candela Controls, Evoke integrated a sophisticated performance lighting rig with the building's existing architectural lighting system, so the two operate as one: seamless control across an entire evening, from house to stage.

The result is a system as versatile as the hall itself, at home for an intimate on-stage interview or a full Grammy-winner concert. Since opening to rave reviews in January, Evoke has stayed on to support the inaugural season's marquee acts, among them Corinne Bailey Rae, The Beach Boys, and a gala evening with Sheryl Crow.
