Booz Allen Hamilton Center for Innovation

For more than a century,
Booz Allen has helped move critical missions forward.

From accelerating the future of global defense, healthcare, and climate science to catalyzing intelligence breakthroughs and advancements in outer space, Booz Allen delivers tomorrow’s solutions today.

At The Helix, Booz Allen’s Center for Innovation, they demonstrate in new ways how their deep experience at the intersection of mission and technology helps the U.S. government solve its most demanding challenges.

The architecture firm OTJ and Booz Allen approached Evoke Collaborative and our partner Jason Livingston of Studio T+L to create an immersive and functional lighting design for their new flagship venue in the heart of Washington DC.

With a mandate that the solution be organic and all encompassing, we created a 400’ long curvilinear light fixture that reacts to each video wall. Internally known as the “the digital river”, our solution brings the content on the screens into the room itself. The venue includes a “TED Talk style” stage with event lighting capabilities as well as dozens of other lighting elements to help highlight projects, events, and work spaces. Evoke and Studio T+L also designed the task lighting for conference rooms, labs and work spaces. The result is a stunningly elegant venue that will serve the needs of Booz Allen for years to come.
